Eh. What can I say?? I'm not a fan of Zoey. I don't want to spoil anything, but she says she's not a "ho" but she kind of is. I love the theme of the book: vampires with magical powers?? Hello, just what the doctor ordered!!! But send me a Hermoine into that world, or even a Rachel Morgan and I'm sold. I love the other characters in the cast, we don't get to see too much of them yet, but I'm hoping that as the series continues we'll get to see them more. I'm definitely committed so we'll see.

House of Night Books 14 Marked / Betrayed / Chosen / Untamed P C Cast Kristin Cast Books Reviews

Ok, I love this series! It was a little teeny bopper cheesy in the beginning, however, once you get through that, it becomes very good. There is not a lot of whining like the "twilight" books, yuck!!!

You find that you really start liking the characters and want to know more. This series pulls you in and will not let go. I cannot wait for her next installment of this series.

I have given this book to my father to read and he loves it at 70! He reads a lot of different genres and he has been asking about the next one too.

My best comparison would be Harry Potter meets Twilight without the whinyness of bella.
My 15 year old daughter hates to read, but she enjoys this series. Watch out for profanity though. I didnt know it had that content before purchasing. /
My 15-year old daughter is a reading fool. She blazed through each of the Twilight books and has re-read them numerous times. Since then, she has been on a relentless quest to find other similar books that capture her interest. I have purchased many that promised to be in the same vein as Twilight, but fell miserably short of the quality storyline for her. Some she never even finished, stating that they were so boring she just couldn't bring herself to go on.
When she unwrapped this slipcover set for Christmas, she was totally psyched! She told me she had asked her Mother if she could buy them at the local big-name bookstore, but the money was just not there to do it. She waited patiently, then as soon as the gifts were all opened and the chaos subsided, she took these books up to her room and started reading. By the next day, she was done with all 4 and started over again for the second read. They met her expectation.
Vampire Academy series is addictive and an easy-read. Ages 12+. I would guess mostly females will like this, but it is hard to stop once you start. I feel that the later books (the last few released) kind of lost me, but the first 8 or so are great! Also, DON'T Compare this to the Twilight Saga! If your reading reviews and now doubting whether or not to get it, DON'T! These people are not book critics, but pretend to be! Read the book and DECIDE FOR YOURSELF! Most of these reviews are wrong! What. Ever! GREAT BOOKS )
Loved the first four books and now I own the whole series. The whole neighborhood is reading them just passing them around when they finish them. When we are done they are going to the cancer center for the young adults to read while getting treatments cause they will enjoy them as well!
I really like this book! Can't wait to lay down at night to read! So glad I tried this series....really think I'm going to enjoy it! Was so upset that I finished the Vampire Diaries, and Origiinals Series, I really thought I was going to have a hard time finding another series that I'd enjoy as much!!! Found it!!!
The first book in the series, Marked, was the best out of the rest of them. It had an interesting plot, a strong female character, and it kept me wanting to read the other books in the series.
However as I kept reading the story line seemed to have declined a bit. It got confusing at times and sometimes it was slow. There was a lot of filler with annoying teenage drama, and although a little drama isn't bad, there was a lot of it.
The main character, Zoey Redbird, was initially this strong female character who was kind and humble, but as the story goes on, she becomes whiny and to be honest, a little pathetic. I understand that she has gone through some hardships and has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but she blows them completely out of proportion and she has some strong friends to help her out.
Her friends also could have been developed more, they are also powerful and unique, yet the author does little to show that, instead they are seen trying to console Zoey or gossip.
Many of the books could have been combined into one, but instead were their own individual books that got tiring to read.
Throughout the books certain places are described quite beautifully and I would love to jump in the books and see them for myself if I could.
The language was interesting and it's an interesting concept, but it was, unfortunately, drawn out too long.
The tenth book is coming out soon and though I am tired of the series, I have invested so much time into reading them that I almost have to see how it plays out.
Eh. What can I say?? I'm not a fan of Zoey. I don't want to spoil anything, but she says she's not a "ho" but she kind of is. I love the theme of the book vampires with magical powers?? Hello, just what the doctor ordered!!! But send me a Hermoine into that world, or even a Rachel Morgan and I'm sold. I love the other characters in the cast, we don't get to see too much of them yet, but I'm hoping that as the series continues we'll get to see them more. I'm definitely committed so we'll see.
